Golf: John Wooden Got It Right

The late, great UCLA basketball coach John Wooden, once said "not to prepare is preparing to fail".

If you want the 2011 golf season more fun than the fall and winter of 2010/11 you must use the "season to prepare".

Your "season to prepare" should be a plan your golf game, your body and your mind to improve golf. The best plan begins with an analysis of the swing followed by a mobility and the analysis of the resilience of your body, by doing this you will have a final base to start.

An effective programme should include:
-Golf instruction of an employee of the PGA
-Practice sessions including feedback drilling
-A personal fitness program from a qualified trainer
-Periodic stability and mobility check-ups

By spending the off season to prepare your game next year you can become comfortable with any changes made to your game and the body without a care for score. The end result of the preparation of your wave of this Fall and winter is more fun next spring and summer.
