Did you know that the average Professional Golfer, the vast majority of their body weight on their targetside foot when the make contact with the golf ball? Normally 75-80%.


Incorrect weight shift is one of the most common problems among the average golfer which manifests in a variety of problems including: power outages, hitting behind the ball, the ball topping, cutting and connect.I include everything? you may be wondering how not to shift my weight can all these problems? the explanation is quite simple, by shifting your weight is not that good you your upper body force overtime because your body of position is to compensate. Think what it would be if it tries to throw a ball as far as you can while keeping all your weight on your back foot, it's the same effect.


Here is a simple instant feedback drilling that will help you improve your weight shift.



Downhill drill swingFind yourself a small slope where you hit shots from a downhill lie exercise can setup with the ball in line with the inside of your higher foot (back feet) and your body tilted with the slope of the Hill. During this setup is the majority of your weight will be on your lower foot (front foot).


Your drill is to hit balls while having your club swing after the slope of the Hill. When you drill functions will almost all of your weight on your front foot and you will easily walk down the Hill in balance.
